B.Tech Admissions 2016

The process of B. Tech admission 2016 will commence immediately after the publication of the qualifying examination results and Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination 2016 results. However registration for NRI seats started. 

Eligibility for admission to the B.Tech. programme, admission policy and procedure shall be decided from time to time by following the guidelines issued by the Government of Kerala and other statutory body such as KTU, AICTE etc.
Eligibility criteria for admission is currently prescribed by the Government of Kerala through Government orders, which is based on the entrance examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala and the marks in the qualifying examination subject to the relaxations allowed for backward classes and other communities as specified from time to time.

50% of the total seats in B Tech courses are set apart as Govt. Quota for centralized allotment by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. 15% seats within the sanctioned intake is provided for NRI / NRK category. Remaining 35% seats are Management seats allotted on merit by ranking applicants on the basis of marks obtained in qualifying examination and for Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination 2016. Seats are also filled under AICTE approved Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme as supernumerary. Seats will also be filled under AICTE approved PIO scheme as soon as we get sanction from Govt. / statutory bodies.

  • FISAT Rank list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained for PCM in qualifying examinations and for KEAM 2016, giving weightage of 60% and 40% respectively.
  • The index mark is obtained on the basis of data provided by candidate. At the time of verification of documents, if the data is found to be incorrect, the claim of the candidate will be rejected.
  • Balance seats available after each day's counselling will be published after 5 PM in the website.
  • Schedule of counselling for rank list 1001 onward will be announced after 5.00 pm on 09-06-2016 in the website subject to the availability of seats.
  • Failure to report for counselling in the scheduled time will forfeit the claim of the candidate for admission.


The following documents are to be produced for verification at the time of counseling:
a) Mark list and Pass certificate (where applicable) of Qualifying exam/ Equivalent exam in original with two self attested copies.
b) SSLC / equivalent certificate to prove date of birth with two self attested copies.
c) Physical Fitness certificate in the format provided in the prospectus for Entrance Exam.
d) Transfer certificate from the institution last studied in original.
e) Course and Conduct certificate in original from the institution last studied.
f) Migration Certificate in original for candidates other than those passed Kerala HSE, VHSE &THSE 
g) Eligibility certificate from M G University for candidates other than those passed Kerala HSE, VHSE, THSE, CBSE & ICSE
h) Copy of Admit card of Entrance Examination.
i) Result sheet of Entrance Examination 2016 conducted by CEE.

Eligibility for Admission

Admission is strictly on the basis of merit.

1. Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 45% marks in Mathematics separately and 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) put together are eligible for Management seats admission. However average 70% marks for PCM in qualifying examination is desirable.

2. Only those candidates who qualify in Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination 2016 (KEAM 2016) conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Govt. of Kerala will be considered.
3. Candidates shall apply directly to FISAT either online or offline for admission:
        a) 35% of the total seats are Management seats and admitted on merit from FISAT rank list based on their academic eligibility and as per norms of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University

         b) FISAT rank list is prepared based on the % of marks of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), in qualifying examination and for Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination 2016 (KEAM 2016) giving weightage of 60% and 40% respectively..

4. AGE: Applicants should have completed 17 years of age on 31st December 2016. No relaxation will be allowed.

5. Nationality: Candidates must be Citizens of India.

Note:- (i) In two year Kerala Higher Secondary courses or examinations recognized equivalent thereto with two year course where the Board Examinations are conducted in both years, the total marks of two years in the respective subjects as shown in the mark lists of the respective Higher Secondary Boards will be considered for academic eligibility.

(ii) In Higher Secondary courses or examinations recognised equivalent thereto where Board Examinations are conducted only at the end of 12th class (final year), the marks in the respective subjects as shown in the mark lists of the respective Higher Secondary Boards will be considered for academic eligibility.

(iii) For all other type of Higher Secondary courses or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, the marks of the respective subjects as shown in the mark list of the respective Board of Examinations will be considered for academic eligibility.*

How to Apply for Management Quota Admission

    1. Instructions for Offline application:

Download the application form from the “Download offline Application” link. The application form needs to be filled up with ball point pen in his/her own handwriting. The filled up application form along with the application fee as Demand Draft (DD) and all necessary documents should be sent to the postal address of the college. 

    2. Instructions for Online application:

Visit the website http://register.fisat.ac.in and follow the instructions there- in. After submitting the online application, the signed print out of the same along with the application fee as DD and all necessary documents should be sent to the postal address of the college. 

    3. Application fee (form-200, brochure- 100 and postage-50) = Rs. 350.

   4. Mode of Payment: Application fee of Rs. 350 can be paid by DD drawn on a Nationalized/Scheduled Bank, in favor of FISAT, payable at Ernakulam/ Aluva.

    5. General Instructions

a) Candidate should not submit applications both online and offline

b) Affix a passport size (3.5 x 3.5 cm) photograph in the space provided for offline application. The photograph is to be pasted in the print out for online application. 

c) The photograph is to be self attested

d) Applications should be complete in all respects. A candidate will be considered for admission, only if he/she has furnished the relevant certificates prescribed in the Prospectus, in proof of eligibility. 

    6. Copies of certificates/documents to be submitted along with the application

a) Copy of the relevant page of SSLC or equivalent certificate to prove date of birth.

b) Copy of qualifying examination Mark list. 

c) Copy of Entrance Admit Card.

    7.  All copies of certificates shall be self attested

    8. The Applicant & the Parent should sign in the specified areas on the printout of the online application or on the offline application form.

   9. Documents or certificates furnished after submission of the application will not be entertained under any circumstances. No opportunity will be given to incorporate any details after the submission of the application.

  10. All basic information required is to be filled in with utmost care. The data provided in the online or offline application will be used for processing the application. Any error in filling the online or offline application or providing false/incomplete/wrong information will forfeit the candidate's eligibility for admission. Furnishing false information/ particulars would result in the forfeiture of the candidature as well as the cancellation of admission at any stage, even after admission.

Procedure of Selection 

FISAT rank list is prepared based on the % of marks of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), in qualifying examination and for Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination 2016 (KEAM 2016) giving weightage of 60% and 40% respectively. 

Merit list for the admission will be published in the website. 

Selection will be in the order of merit through open counselling. The date for counselling will be published in the website. 

Candidates are advised to visit the website regularly to get updated information on interview, admission etc. No separate communication will be sent on this account. 

Selected candidates shall take admission at the appointed time and date in the college, after paying the tuition fee and other fees to be paid, failing which the offer of admission will be cancelled.

2. He/ she shall be qualified in Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination 2016.

For those students found eligible for total fee exemption under Tuition Fee Waiver scheme or found eligible for lower fees, the Management will return the excess fees realized from the students within one week of intimation of such concession by Commissioner of Entrance Examination.

In such cases, Rs. 50000 will be returned to students eligible under Tuition fee waiver scheme and Rs. 25000 will be returned to students eligible under low income group.

Full Fee Waiver Scheme by Management
The management offers full fee waiver for meritorious students who secure ranks up to 3000 and admitted in FISAT through Govt. Quota. They have to remit the required fees in the bank as notified by CEE and produce the receipt for refund of the amount. Sustained progress is required to continue in the scheme.

 

Full Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme
The AICTE approved Tuition Fee Waiver scheme is implemented in the college. Accordingly 5% of the total intake will be filled under this scheme. These seats will be filled by the Govt. eligibility for admission will be as per the norms of this scheme. The selection is made purely on the basis of Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination rank list and family income.

 


NRI / NRK Quota admission

15% seats of the sanctioned intake are provided for NRI / NRK category and allotted to children and dependants of NRIs and NRKs on the basis of marks obtained for PCM in qualifying examination. These students are admitted by the Management based on their academic eligibility as per APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University norms and exempted from qualifying in Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination 2016.

2. An NRI can sponsor the children or dependants* and he/she will have to give an undertaking in the prescribed format. Also he should provide copy of passport, copy of visa and copy of employment certificate, all self attested.

Department of Computer Applications

The MCA programme started in Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT) in the year 2006. MCA Department has a team of competent and committed faculty and very good infrastructure facilities. Regular industrial visits and personality development trainings are part of the academic programme to improve the employability. MCA (Three Year)

  • Three year Post graduate programme consisting of six semesters.
  • The annual intake is 60.
  • The course is approved by AICTE and affiliated to the A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala.

Lateral MCA (Two Year)

  • Two year Post graduate programme consisting of four semesters.
  • The annual intake is 60.
  • The course is approved by AICTE and affiliated to the A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala.

2.      ELIGIBILITY

MCA (Three Year)

  • Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years duration with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduate Level. Percentage of qualifying marks as stipulated by APJ Abdul Kala University and other statutory authorities (However 50% marks is desirable).
  • Must qualify entrance examination conducted by a competent authority as per the rules and regulations of APJ/AICTE/Govt.


Lateral MCA (Two Year)      

  • Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years duration in BCA, B.Sc. (IT/ Computer Science) with Mathematics as a Course at 10+2 level or at Graduation Level. Percentage of qualifying marks as stipulated by APJ Abdul Kala University and other statutory authorities (However 50% marks is desirable).

Govt. Quota

50% of the total seats in each of the course are set apart as Govt. quota seats. Candidates interested in Govt. quota seats have to register their names online in the website of Director of Technical Education (DTE) www.dtekerala.gov.in.as per their notification expected shortly. DTE will prepare a rank list by considering the candidate’s Gate score/aggregate marks obtained up to 6th semester in qualifying degree examination. Candidates qualified in ranking by DTE have to submit their applications directly to FISAT for admissions. Last date for submitting the application will be 20-07-2016 . FISAT will publish a merit list from the applications received, based on the ranking by DTE, and the seats will be filled on inter se merit, observing the Reservation Rules as per G.O (P)208/66/Edn. dated 02-05-1966. G O (MS) 95/08/SCSTDD dated 06-10-2008 and as modified from time to time by the Govt

Management Quota

The remaining 50% seats are under management Quota. Admission to Management seats is conducted by the Management. Admission is strictly on the basis of merit. The application form downloaded from the college website can be used to apply under management quota also.

 

1. Eligibility for Admission

Eligibility will be subject to the rules and regulations of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) /AICTE/Govt.

1.1 The candidates should have studied in the graduate course in an institution approved by the AICTE/Deemed Universities and must have scored  minimum of 60% marks in Graduate Degree examination in the appropriate branch of engineering.

1.2 For SC/ST candidates, a pass in the above mentioned degrees is sufficient.

1.3 The candidates shall be an Indian National.

1.4 Candidates who have degrees awarded from other Universities shall submit Eligibility Certificate as well as Migration Certificate at the time of admission.

1.5 Valid GATE score

1.6 In the case of non GATE candidates, procedure followed in Govt. will be considered.

1.7 Candidates who have appeared for the final examination can also apply provided he/ she has passed all the subjects up to and including the 6th semester exam. Such candidate shall submit self attested copies of all mark lists up to 6th semester along with the application. Selection of such candidates shall be subject to the production of qualifying degree satisfying clauses (1.1 to 1.6)

1.8 Admission procedure is subject to modification as may be deemed necessary subject to further orders, if any, passed by appropriate authorities.

2. How to Apply

Candidates, who wish to apply, need submit only one application offline to consider for both Management/Govt Quota.

2.1 Download the application form from the “Download offline Application” link. The application form needs to be filled up with ball point pen.

The filled up application form along with the application fee as Demand Draft (DD) for Rs. 550 and all necessary documents should be sent to the postal address of the college.

2.3 Mode of Payment: Application fee of Rs. 550 can be paid by DD drawn on a Nationalised/Scheduled Bank, in favour of FISAT, payable at Ernakulam/ Aluva.

2.4 General Instructions

a) Affix a passport size (3.5 x 3.5 cm) photograph in the space provided for offline application.

b) Applications should be complete in all respects. A candidate will be considered for admission, only if he/she has furnished the relevant certificates prescribed in the Prospectus, in proof of eligibility or in support of any claim for reservation, under any category.

c) Documents or certificates furnished after submission of the application will not be entertained under any circumstances. No opportunity will be given to incorporate any details after the submission of the application.

d) All basic information required is to be filled in with utmost care. The data provided in the offline application will be used for processing the application.

e) Any error in filling the offline application or providing false/incomplete/wrong information will affect the candidate's eligibility for admission or claim for reservation under any category. Furnishing false information/ particulars would result in the forfeiture of the candidature as well as the cancellation of admission at any stage, even after admission.

 

f) Applications may be sent to The Principal, Federal Institute of Science And Technology (FISAT), Hormis Nagar, Mookkannoor P O, Angamaly 683577, Kerala.

g) The college will not be responsible for any postal delay or loss of application during transit. The updated information on acknowledgment of the applications received will be available in http://admission.fisat.ac.in

h) Candidates are advised to keep a copy of completed application form for further reference.

 

2.5 Copies of documents to be submitted along with the application form:

1) Qualifying Degree Certificate

2) Qualifying Degree mark list (up to sixth sem, if final results are not available).

3)  Proof of age

4)  Experience Certificate, if any

5)  Proof to claim SC/ST/ other reservations

6)  Sponsorship Certificate, if applicable      

7)  GATE score card (for candidates with valid GATE score)

8)  Proof regarding submission of application to DTE.

Eligibilty

Total number of intake: 120 seats

ŸA pass in degree examination with 50% marks (60% marks desirable) in aggregate for Arts /Commerce /Science/ Engineering and for post graduates. Final year students are also eligible to apply

ŸGood score in any Management Aptitude Test- C-MAT/CAT/KMAT

Selection

The selection of candidates is purely based on merit. Admission to the MBA programme is determined by the scores obtained by the candidate in the admission test, group discussion,personal interview and a consistent academic record.

How to Apply

Application form and prospectus can be obtained directly either at the college office or at FBOA centre ,Aluva by paying Rs 700/- Application form and prospectus can be downloaded from our website, www.fbs.ac.in or www.fisat.ac.in and the filled up application form can be forwarded to the college office along with a demand draft of Rs. 750/- in favour of FISAT , payable at Ernakulam.
