Center for Advanced Research in Power Converters (CARPC) - Project Lab
In this era when the whole world concerns about sustainable energy and quality of power which enhances the living standards, what can we contribute as electrical engineers? These underlying thoughts ignited the minds of the people of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering to take some steps to start a research hub which kindles ideas in the minds of the future younger generation. Advances in Power Electronics has become the state-of-the-art and by now it has marked its existence in almost all walks of energy management. This prompted the faculty to initiate a center for research in the eld of Power Electronics. Thus, the Center for Advanced Research in Power Converters (CARPC) was started with a small beginning, in one of the regular lab areas in the year 2015. Later it got an independent existence in Room No. 408 of the Decennial block of Federal Institute of Science And Technology in August 2017.
The Center for Advanced Research in Power Converters started with a big dream, the dream of excellence. It aims in achieving excellence through industrial collaborations, thereby sharing the technical knowledge and providing transformative industry standard solutions to many of the benchmark problems. The center exists in motivating students and researchers of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering to pursue research in Power Electronics and related areas. It plans to provide training in the field of power electronics, give technical assistance and facilities for students for their project work, and also conduct Faculty Development Programs. The infrastructure facility of the center is planned to increase every year.
