One-week FDP on Advances in Materials Engineering and sustainable Manufacturing from 10-8-2020 to 14-8-2020.
The Mechanical Engineering department at Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT) has organized 10th August 2020 to 14th August 2020.
The FDP received international attention and had Resource persons from USA and Malaysia. Participants of the program were from USA, Malaysia, Oman and Ethiopia apart from various states in India. Research scholars from various IITs/NITs attended the programme. The FDP had more than 350 registered participants who were active during the sessions and made the event fruitful.

Alumni Webinar Series 2020 from 2nd July to 30th July
The Mechanical Engineering department at Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT) has organized a series of webinars with Resource persons pooled in from our Alumni. These interactions opened up a window of discussion between our students and Alumnus. The webinars were well received and the students were glad to see and learn from the experiences of their senior batch students.

Workshop on Non-linear structural Analysis using FEM from 15th July to 21st July
A 6-day online value-added course on "Nonlinear structural analysis using FEM" was conducted from 15th to 21st July 2020. The program content has been specially designed to address the needs of junior and middle level analysts to apply FEM for solving real life stress analysis problems using ANSYS 2019.
Towards the end of the workshop the participants were able to perform simple structural analysis in ANSYS as well as to validate and verify the FEM results. They were also introduced to plasticity models in ANSYS.

The Mechanical Engineering department at Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT) has organized a series of webinars with Resource persons pooled in from prominent industries. The webinars focused on bridging the gap between industry and their curriculum and gave insights to various thrust areas in mechanical engineering.

National Science Day 2020 - Observance
The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT) has organized an erudite lecture in connection with National Science Day celebrations on 5th March 2020.
Dr. Muralee Thummarukudy, Chief, Disaster Risk Reduction, UN Environment Programme was the resource person. This was the 5th lecture in the Erudite Lecture Series organized by the department every year.
