Half of the total seats (50%) in each of the courses in B.Tech are allotted by the Controller of Entrance Examination, Govt of Kerala based on the KEAM Rank and the remaining 50% seats are filled by the Management on the basis of Merit.

Govt. Quota

DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER APPLICATIONS

The MCA programme started in Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT) in the year 2006. The department aims to achieve academic excellence by focusing on the key activities like providing quality education to students, enhancing their learning skills and giving them training to acquire the professional skills required for their career with an objective of making them socially committed professionals. A team of qualified and committed faculty with ample experience is the highlight of the department.

The students of the department consistently bagged top spots in the University Examinations. The first ranks in 2010, 2012 and 2015, second rank in 2015 and third rank in 2011, 2016 (MCA-Lateral) in Mahatma Gandhi University MCA examinations and third rank in 2020 in APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University were major academic achievements of the department. Regular industrial visits and personality development trainings have been organizing by the department to improve the employability. Reputed MNCs and companies have recruited many of our graduates in their campus placement drives. Department has signed MOU with companies for providing internship, training and project works. ​The department constantly strives to improve the knowledge and skill sets of the students by organizing many values added programs like workshops, webinars, project exhibitions, add-on courses etc.

COURSES OFFERED:

MCA (Two Year)

  • Two year Post graduate programme consisting of four semesters.
  • The annual intake is 120.
  • The course is approved by AICTE and affiliated to the A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Passed any graduation degree (e.g.: B.E. / B.Tech./ B.Sc / B.Com. / B.A./ B. Voc./ BCA etc.,) preferably with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduation level
  • Obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) inthe qualifying examination.
  • Must qualify entrance examination conducted by a competent authority as per the rules and regulations of APJ/AICTE/Govt.

ADMISSION GOVT./ MANAGEMENT QUOTA

Documents to be produced:

  1. Mark List and Pass Certificate (wherever applicable) of Plus II / PDC/ Equivalent in original.
  2. Two self-attested copies of the above Mark List and Pass Certificate.
  3. SSLC/ Secondary Examination certificate in original for proof of age; with two self-attested copies.
  4. Degree Certificate and Mark lists with two self-attested copies each.
  5. Physical fitnesscertificate from a Government Medical Practitioner.
  6. Transfer Certificate in originalfrom the Institution last studied.
  7. Course and conduct certificate from the Head of the Institution last studied.
  8. Migration certificate in original, for students who have passed degree from universities out of Kerala.
  9. Eligibility certificate from KTU, for students who have passed degree from universities out of Kerala.
  10. Admit card of Entrance Examination in original (If available).
  11. Result sheet of the Entrance Examination in original (If available).
  12. Four passport size & three stamp size (color) photographs.
  13. True copy of Aadhaar card.
  14. A candidate who is employed or is a trainee in Govt. / Quasi Govt. /Banks etc. shall, at the time of interview, produce a relieving order and a certificate of good conduct from the head of the institution where the candidate was employed.

Candidates will be admitted only if they possess the marks eligible for admission as per University and Govt. Norms for the qualifying examination and entrance examination.

 

HOSTEL FACILITIES

Hostels for boys and girls are available in the campus. Separate application along with fees can be remitted at the time of admission.

About M.Tech. Programme

Post Graduate Education and Research in Engineering and Technology has gained distinct importance in context of National Education Policy(NEP) for National development. The ambitious – Make In India Mission has already started showing targeted results in terms of increased manufacturing sector. The start-ups projects have created a new generation of entrepreneurs in diverse fields of engineering by tapping vast potential of innovative minds. The skill development mission has attracted large number of youths to acquire skills of their liking and to convert skills into employment and enterprise. The knowledge, skills and competency of engineers required by industry for enhancing their competitiveness in the market need to be developed from post graduate education and research in engineering and technology.

By incorporating changes in pedagogy and delivery system in teaching and learning process, APJAKTU has revised the curriculum for M.Tech from the AY 2022-23. The inclusion of mini project, audit courses, open electives and dissertation are the special features of the curriculum. The students are asked to learn IPR/ research methodology to understand the importance and process of creation of patents through research. The introduction of an audit course covering subjects of developing desired attitude among the learners is on the line of initiatives such as Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Value education, Disaster management, Pedagogy, Constitution of India, Personality development through Indian culture etc. The introduction of mini projects ensures preparedness of students to undertake major projects/ dissertation. The courses included under open electives are of importance in the context of special skill development and they are on business analytics, industrial safety, operation research and cost management of engineering project. These courses shall make students capable to work in industrial environment.

Admission                                                                                                                             .

Govt. Quota

50% of the total seats in each of the courses are set apart as Govt. quota seats. Candidates interested in Govt. quota seats have to register their names online in the website of Director of Technical Education (DTE) www.dtekerala.gov.inas per their notification expected shortly. DTE will prepare a rank list by considering the candidate’s Gate score/aggregate marks obtained up to 6th semester in qualifying degree examination. Based on the ranking by DTE, the seats can be filled by FISAT Admission office, if the candidate has separately given the application in FISAT for the admission  as per G.O (P)208/66/Edn. dated 02-05-1966. G O (MS) 95/08/SCSTDD dated 06-10-2008 and as modified from time to time by the Govt.

 

Management Quota

The remaining 50% seats are under management Quota. Admission to Management seats is conducted by the Management. Admission is on the basis of merit. Applications are available online. Candidates need to submit only one online application for Govt./Management Quota.

ELIGIBILITY

  • The candidate should have a minimum CGPA of 6.0 in a 10 point scale in the Engineering Degree Examination. For SEBC (OBC) students, the minimum CGPA requirement is 5.5 in a 10 point scale.For SC/ST candidates a pass in the Engineering Degree Programme is sufficient.
  • Candidates, who have passed AMIE / AMIETE Examinations and satisfying the following conditions, are also eligible for admission. i) They must have valid GATE score. ii) A minimum of 55% marks for section B in AMIE/AMIETE examination.
  •  Candidates who have degrees awarded from other Universities shall submit Eligibility Certificate as well as Migration Certificate at the time of admission.
  • Sponsored candidates from Industries, R&D organizations, National Laboratories as well as Educational Institutions, are eligible for admission to the M.Tech Programme.
  • The reservation policy of the Government of Kerala shall be followed in admission to the M.Tech. programme
  • Candidates who have appeared for the final examination can also apply provided he/ she has passed all the subjects up to and including the 6th semester exam. Selection of such candidates shall be subject to the production of qualifying degree satisfying clauses 
  • Admission procedure is subject to modification as may be deemed necessary subject to further orders, if any, passed by appropriate authorities.

FISAT Business School invites applications for admission to its two year Full Time MBA Program – Batch 2024-26

Eligibility

A pass in degree examination with 50% marks (60% marks desirable) in aggregate for Arts/Commerce /Science/ Engineering and for post graduates. Final year students are also eligible to apply.

Good score in any Management Aptitude Test- C-MAT / CAT/KMAT (The minimum qualifying cut off marks of KMAT Kerala Entrance Examination shall be 15% (108/720) for General Category from the academic year 2019. The minimum cut off for SEBC will be 10% (72/720) and 7.5% (54/720) for SC/ST).

Selection 

The selection of candidates is purely based on merit. Admission to the MBA programme is determined by the scores obtained by the candidate in the admission test, group discussion, personal interview and a consistent academic record .
