PTA
The department of Civil Engineering offers add on programs with an objective to supplement the B.Tech curriculum so that students are employable and industry ready by the time they graduate. There add on programs are offered with the help of internal as well as external resources. Students who successfully complete these programs are issued certificates.
Add on course on Building Information Modelling
Resource Person : Internal
About the course: Building information modeling (BIM) is a process supported by various tools, technologies and contracts involving the generation and management of digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of places. BIM software is used by individuals, businesses and government agencies who plan, design, construct, operate and maintain buildings and diverse physical infrastructures, such as water, refuse, electricity, gas, communication utilities, roads, railways, bridges, ports and tunnels. This course introduces the students to the basics of BIM and gives a hands-on experience in REVIT Architecture.
Duration of the course: 5 Days, hands on workshop
Add on course: STAAD Pro (Advanced Course)
About the course: STAAD or (STAAD.Pro) is a structural analysis and design software application supplied and maintained by Bentley Systems. This is one of the most popular structural analysis and design software used in India. There are good opportunities for engineering students who have good knowledge in using STAAD. This is an add on course including advanced topics like design of framed structure for earthquakes and wind loading.
Duration of the course: 7 Days, Hands on workshop
Building Planning Workshop
About the course: The course intends to give the student a real life experience in the planning process of a building, right from client requirement discussion, to site visit, to planning, sketching, drawing and presenting the plan.
Duration of the course: 4 days, Workshop
Overview of provisions in building rules, registration and approval procedures
About the course: This course intends to build a thorough knowledge among fresh engineering students about the procedures for getting registered as licensed engineer, Building rules and regulations, the documentation required for purchasing land, and getting building permits.
Duration of the course: 3 Days
Introduction to LaTeX
About the course: LaTeX is a software system for document preparation. LaTeX is widely used in academia for the communication and publication of scientific documents in many fields, including mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, physics, economics, linguistics, quantitative psychology, philosophy, and political science. The course gives a detailed overview of latex and trains the students on how to prepare a report using it.
Duration of the course: 5 Days, Hands on workshop
Introduction to SCILAB
About the course: Scilab is a free and open-source, cross-platform numerical computational package and a high-level, numerically oriented programming language. It can be used for signal processing, statistical analysis, image enhancement, fluid dynamics simulations, numerical optimization, and modeling, simulation of explicit and implicit dynamical systems and symbolic manipulations. The course introduces students to the basic interface of scilab, its capabilities and plotting.
Duration of the course: 3 Days, Hands on workshop
Geospatial Technologies - Certified - in association with IIRS ISRO
