Add-on Courses

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) offers a range of add-on programmes to supplement the B. Tech curriculum and enhance students’ technical skills. These programmes are designed to make students industry-ready and employable at the time of graduation. The add-on programmes are conducted with the support of internal faculty as well as external industry experts. Students who successfully complete the programmes are awarded certificates.

 

Add-on Course on 32-bit ARM MICROCONTROLLER & PIC

The Add-on Course on 32-bit ARM MICROCONTROLLER & PIC will provide an insight to the ARM 9 focusing on both theoretical and practical aspects of the microcontrollers, development boards, Programming Languages, Simulators, Debuggers, Programmers, IDEs, Compilers, and applications. Hands-on sessions will be conducted on ARM MICROCONTROLLER and PIC which are compatible with Arduino.

Learning objectives of the course:

On successful completion of the course, the candidates will be able to

2-Day Hands-On Workshop on VEGA Processors and Ecosystem

This hands-on workshop on indigenous RISC-V based VEGA processors will provide an insight to the VEGA series of processors and ecosystem focusing on both theoretical and practical aspects of the processors, development boards, SDK, and applications. Hands-on sessions will be conducted on ARIES boards which are compatible with Arduino.

Add-on Course on FPGA Architecture and Programming using Verilog HDL

The Add-on Course FPGA Architecture and Programming using Verilog HDL was a skill-based add-on course conducted as a hands-on training and knowledge enhancement program. It focused on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) architecture and programming using Verilog Hardware Description Language (HDL), enabling students to gain practical exposure to digital design and implementation.

Learning objectives of NIELIT Calicut course:

Mentoring System

A well-structured and healthy mentoring system is in place in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) to support the academic, professional, and personal development of students. For each B.Tech class, three faculty mentors are assigned, while one faculty mentor is allotted for each M.Tech class. Each mentor guides approximately 20–25 students, ensuring effective individual attention and continuous monitoring of student progress.
