LABS

The department has a well adequate lab facility with all equipment needed to meet the curriculum requirements.There are 6 laboratories functioning under the department. Every laboratory has an adequate number of qualified technical staff. To enhance the overall learning experience, the department library has a collection of important books, and it is equipped with computers with internet facility, which makes the library a self learning centre.

 Electrical Engineering Workshop

 

Electrical Engineering Workshop practice is the backbone of the real industrial environment which helps to develop and enhance relevant technical hand skills required by the technician working in the various engineering industries and workshops. Workshop curriculum builds hands-on experiences which would help to learn wiring practices and technology courses in successive semesters.

Circuits and Measurements Lab

 

The Circuits & Measurements Lab is the one of the basic Laboratory of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department. The Laboratory is equipped with conventional and modern Electrical and Electronics measuring equipment, various AC and DC Electrical meters Transformers. This Laboratory helps Under Graduate Students to get acquainted with the basics of measurements and selection of proper measuring instruments. Also, the Laboratory is used for research activities  and to carry out project works.

Electrical Machines Lab

 

The Electrical Machines Laboratory is the one of the important Laboratory of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department. The Laboratory is equipped with conventional and modern Electrical and Electronics measuring equipments, various AC and DC Electrical Machines and Transformers. This Laboratory caters the need of Under Graduate Students to enable them to easily understand the basics and adapt to advanced experiments of Electrical Machines. Also, the Laboratory is used for research activities in Electrical drives and to carry out project works

Advanced Electrical Simulation Lab

 

Advanced Electrical Simulation Lab comprises of various advanced software which are used in evaluating the basic and advanced level problems in Electrical Engineering. This Lab serves the need of both under graduate and post graduate students enabling them to easily understand the basics and advanced concepts.  Advanced simulation projects are carried out using MATLAB tool box and PSCAD. It also open-ups the diverse opportunities for conducting research work for both faculty and students in the domains of Power Systems, Power Electronics and Drives, Control Systems etc.

Power Electronics Lab

 

The Power Electronics Laboratory enhances the knowledge of Undergraduate Students and Post Graduate Students  by providing better understanding of the concepts and working of advanced Power Semiconductor Devices , Power Electronics Circuits and electric drives. Power Electronics lab provides fundamental facilities for the students to get an overview of different types of power semiconductor devices and the operation and characteristics of various types of power electronic converters. This Laboratory is equipped with Single Phase and Three Phase AC to DC Converters, different types of DC-DC Choppers, Single Phase AC Voltage Controllers, Cyclo-converters, Single Phase and Three Phase Inverters ,Induction motor drives,Dc motor drives etc. In addition to that the Post Graduate Students and Research Scholars utilize this Laboratory to carry out their project and research work respectively.

Centre for Advanced Research in Power Converters – CARPC(Project Lab)

 

The Center for Advanced Research in Power Converters started with a big dream, the dream of excellence. It aims in achieving excellence through industrial collaborations, thereby sharing the technical knowledge and providing transformative industry standard solutions to many of the benchmark problems. The center exists in motivating students and researchers of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering to pursue research in Power Electronics and related areas. It plans to provide training in the field of power electronics, give technical assistance and facilities for students for their project work, and also conduct Faculty Development Programs. The thrust areas include development of power management modules for various applications ranging from battery chargers to automated vehicles, development of high efficiency Power Converters, methods for Optimal Renewable Energy Management.
