Dr. Asha Joseph is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT), Angamaly. She holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi, Kerala, awarded in 2019, for her research on “Dynamic Behaviour of Ground Supported Cylindrical Water Tanks.” She earned her M.Tech in Computer Aided Structural Engineering from Mar Athanasius College of Engineering, Kothamangalam, with First Rank in 2007, and completed her B.Tech in Civil Engineering with Honours from Government Engineering College, Thrissur, in 1997.

Dr. Asha began her teaching career as a Lecturer at Saintgits College of Engineering, Kottayam, in 2007. She served as an Assistant Professor at IES College of Engineering, Thrissur, for six years before joining FISAT in 2014. She has been serving as Associate Professor at FISAT since 2019. Prior to her academic career, she gained valuable experience working with structural design firms.

She has made notable contributions to the institutional development of FISAT. Dr. Asha served as the Joint Coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) from 2019 to 2025 and was the Joint Convenor of the NBA Accreditation visit in 2023. Since 2023, she has been serving as the Secretary-cum-Treasurer of the ISTE FISAT Chapter and played a pivotal role in the chapter being recognized as the Best Faculty Chapter of ISTE Kerala Section for two consecutive years (2023 and 2024). She also served as Treasurer of the FISAT Staff Welfare and Recreation Forum for two years.

Her areas of interest include Structural Dynamics, Finite Element Analysis, Earthquake Engineering, and Building Information Modelling (BIM). As an approved research guide under APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, she is supervising research project and serves on doctoral committees. She has guided 22 M.Tech theses and numerous B.Tech projects.

Dr. Asha is a reviewer for several indexed journals and has authored over thirty papers published in national and international journals and conferences. She has also chaired technical sessions at various academic conferences and serves as an editor for Lecture Notes in Civil Engineering, published by Springer.

She is a Chartered Engineer and a life member of professional bodies including the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and the Institution of Engineers (India).
