Ms. Abhiya Abbas mundol completed her B.Tech in Civil Engineering from Govt. College of Engineering Kannur in 2010. She completed her M.Tech in Remote Sensing and GIS from National Institute of Science and Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal in 2012. She was working as adhoc lecturer in National Institute of Science and Technology Calicut (NITC) prior to joining the Department of Civil Engineering at FISAT as Assistant Professor in 2013. She has taught subjects such as Engineering Mechanics, Surveying, Geomatics, Geographic Information System and Environmental Engineering. Her areas of interest are applications of Remote sensing and GIS in various disciplines of civil engineering.

- Co-Guided B.Tech projects entitled “ Remote Sensing and GIS based spatial planning of Angamaly region” with Dr. R Satheesh Centre for Remote Sensing and GIS School of Environmental Sciences, MG University
- Co-Guided “Shoreline Change Analysis using Remote Sensing and GIS” with Nansen Environmental Research Centre India (NERCI), Research centre of Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean studies.
- Under the aegis of MoU signed with KSREC (Kerala State Remote Sensing and Environment Centre), “Digital Mookkannoor” the first socially relevant assignment has been initiated in coordination with Mookkannoor Panchayath. This project aims to prepare a map of mookkannoor panchayath containing ward boundaries, the location of polling booths and polling boundaries, panchayat boundary, locations of commercial buildings, roads, canals, educational institutions, water bodies, industries etc with the help of geospatial technologies.
