International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), are accounting standards issued by the IFRS Foundation and the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). This 30 hours course is designed to help students develop knowledge and understanding of the concepts and principles of the Conceptual Framework for Financial Reporting. Additionally, it also helps them to identify and apply disclosure requirements in financial reports.

The department offers a five-day Microsoft Certified Instructor Led Training (MCILT) programs to provide application-oriented classes on MS Excel. The objective of the programme is to offer classroom training with intensive hands-on instructional workshops. The course helps the students to design and manage spreadsheets; apply best practices; analyze large amounts of data with pivot tables and pivot charts; generate and customize charts. The sessions are conducted in the computer labs at the college. The course is offered to all the students irrespective of their specializations.

Data Analytics Using IBM SPSS

The department offers a five-day training programme on IBM SPSS to provide an application-oriented introduction to the statistical component of IBM SPSS Statistics. The objective of this training is to review several statistical techniques and discuss situations in which the students would use each technique, how to set up the analysis, as well as how to interpret the results. This includes a broad range of techniques for exploring and summarizing data, as well as investigating and testing relationships. At the end of the training, students should gain an understanding of when and why to use these various techniques as well as how to apply them with confidence, interpret their output, and graphically display the results.

Main Projects

As per the MCA curriculum, during the final semester every student should do a project based on any of the recent technologies. This project work aims to enable the students to apply the software engineering principles on a real software project, to make the students familiar with the stages of a deployment pipeline and to develop a software product using the latest software development methodology.

The project shall be an individual project. Students shall identify Real-Life Projects which are relevant and useful to the society or industry. A faculty from the department will be assigned as the Internal Guide and another faculty is assigned as the Scrum Master to continuously monitor the project development. Git is used for Version Control and Git commit history have been verified as part of project evaluation. LaTeX or an equivalent tool is used for preparing their Presentations and Project Report.

Also, Project exhibition of top 10 projects is conducted towards the end of the project development. External experts are invited to evaluate their projects and the outstanding project(s) will be recommended for the Best Project Award of the year.

Placement Statistics

Placement and Training cell plays a pivotal role in providing opportunities for students to grab their dream jobs. The PTC of the department is a team of experienced faculties and vibrant student representatives. The team is functioning inline with the Placement Cell of the institution. The cell is working hard to mould the students to fit  themselves to the placement drives. For this, every student is made to go through a series of training programs for enhancing their skills in technical, aptitude and soft skill during their course for nearly 200+ hours. PTC has been successful in placing almost all the eligible students over these years. The fact that our students are placed in MNCs like IBM, TCS, Infosys, Accenture, CTS, IBS, UST Global, Government and Public Sector companies and commercial banks speaks volumes about the professional excellence of students.
