SAME is a college-level academic and professional body formed within the Department of Mechanical Engineering. It serves as a common platform where all Mechanical Engineering students are members and actively participate in technical, professional, and co-curricular development activities.

The association functions under the guidance of faculty coordinators and is managed by an elected student committee.

CENTRE FOR SUSTAINABLE MANUFACTURING AND RENEWABLE ENERGY (C-SMRE)

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at FISAT houses the C-SMRE, a hub for research and innovation in eco-efficient manufacturing and renewable technologies. The centre plays a vital role in promoting sustainable practices, enabling precision engineering, advanced material innovation and rapid prototyping. It significantly impacts industry and academia by supporting advanced projects, encouraging green technology adoption and driving innovative solutions and supporting cutting edge research initiatives. Through hands-on training and real world problem solving, the centre empowers students and researchers to develop technologies addressing global environmental and engineering challenges.

 

CENTRE FOR ADVANCED COMPUTATIONAL RESEARCH (CACR)

The facility has an advanced system (Intel Xeon processor and AMD Ryzen thread ripper processor) and different modelling and computational software’s like Abaqus 6.13, Solid works, CREO 2, Autocad 2019, Openfoam, Octave, Scilab etc. All the systems can run round the clock for numerical solutions and are provided with NVME2 SSD and Graphic Processing units. The centre facilitates research in CFD, structural analysis, numerical simulations etc.
