MoU with University of Malaysia Al-Sultan Abdullah Pahang, Malaysia
A Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) is signed between Federal Institute of Science and Technology, Angamaly and University of Malaysia Al-Sultan Abdullah, Pahang, Malaysia to encourage the following activities, in particular, to promote international academic and research cooperation in the areas of organization of joint symposia, online courses to students, Research collaboration in terms of joint grant application, and mutual involvement of human and technical resources, Institutional exchanges between students and staff from each partner institution. The staff members from the department of Civil Engineering, FISAT, Dr. Jiji Antony (HOD), Dr. Kavitha P E (Assoc. Prof.), Mr. Pauly P K(Technical Staff) visited the university at Pahang on 7/12/2023 and 8/12/2023 for the exchange of MoU, to experience the research and laboratory facilities available and to have a technical discussion on the possible areas of collaboration.
The team from FISAT also visited the lab facilities of the university. The civil engineering related UG/PG labs and the central lab facilities were visited. The Civil Engineering labs such as geotechnical lab, transportation Engg. Lab, Geology labs were visited. UG lab experiments were done as per ASTM standards and are similar to the tests conducted here. Also visited centralised lab facilities particularly for PG and research scholars and experienced the latest facilities such as advanced material testing facilities -SEM, Xray diffraction etc, vacuum storage and testing of chemicals, advanced computerised testing facilities etc.
They also had a meeting with Indian students/research scholars and staff members. A detailed discussion about possible area collaboration was done and it is recommended to take forward the association activities related to sustainability in association with IGBC chapter of FISAT.
MoU with Furniture & Fittings Skill Council (FFSC)
Federal Institute of Science and Technology has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Furniture & Fittings Skill Council (FFSC), a Non-Profit organization formed under the aegis of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) with CII & NSDC as the promoting organization, on 10 July 2023. Department of Civil Engineering took the initiative to sign this MoU with FFSC, to collaborate and contribute to activities like training infrastructure, project implementation, and career management initiatives.
MoU with L&T EDUTECH
Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT) signed an agreement with L&T EduTech , Kochi to collaborate and offer industry-led application-oriented certification courses. The agreement was signed in the presence of Dr Manoj George (Principal, FISAT), Vinod P Nair (Administrative Officer, FISAT) and heads of departments of various disciplines. L&T EduTech was represented by Sanjeev Sharma (Head, DMN, L&T) and R Jayakumar (Manager, Administration, DMN, L&T).
MoU with Builders Association of India(BAI)
The Department of Civil Engineering signed an MoU with Builders Association of India on 22-03-2023. MoU is regarding the upskilling, connecting and creation of employment opportunities for students in the construction industry in its broad spectrum. It would also involve conducting training programs, build expos to enhance the image of both parties.
MOU with Kerala State Remote Sensing and Environmental Centre (KSREC)
The Department of Civil Engineering signed an MoU with Kerala State Remote Sensing and Environmental Centre (KSREC) on 18 December 2018. The MoU was signed by Dr. Reghunatha Menon, Director KSREC and Dr. George Issac, Principal, FISAT in the presence of Mr. Paul Mundadan, Chairman, Dr K SM Panicker, Director, Dr. C Sheela, Vice Principal and Mr. Unni Kartha G, Head of the Department.
This MoU will enable the students and faculty to learn and collaborate in the various activities of KSREC for making meaningful interventions in resolving societal issues and resource management at various levels of governance. This is the first agreement that KSREC has initiated formally in the state.
Under the MoU the department has undertaken the Digital Mookkannoor Project – for mapping the assets of the Mookkannoor Panchayath.
