B.Tech

The B.Tech graduate program in Civil Engineering envisages to provide students with a good understanding of Civil Engineering solutions in a global, societal and environmental context, consistent with the principles of sustainable development. The course will make the students capable in identifying, formulating and solving civil engineering problems that meet specified performance, cost, time, safety and other quality needs and objectives with professional and ethical responsibility.

The B.Tech program is accredited by National Board of Accreditation(NBA) up to June 2027.

M.Tech

The M.Tech graduate program in Structural Engineering and Construction Management focuses to impart advanced knowledge in the field of Structural Engineering and Construction Management and make them capable of providing solutions with professional and ethical responsibility. The course also gives importance to research based projects and to prepare students for teaching and further research, in addition to making them ready to satisfy current needs of the industry.

Talk on “Real-World Control & Instrumentation Insights” The Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (EIE) organized an expert talk on “Real-World Control & Instrumentation Insights” by Mr. Mohammed Aslam, CEO of INQBE Innovation Pvt. Ltd. The session highlighted practical applications of industrial control and instrumentation, covering systems from PID controllers to PLCs and DCS, and emphasized their role in quality assurance, resource optimization, and safety.
 Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Outcome Based Education The Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), FISAT, organized a Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Outcome Based Education with focus on Graduate Attributes and Professional Competencies (GAPC) Version 4.0” on 23rd August 2025 from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM.The session was handled by Dr. Baskar S, Dean (R&D), Thiagarajar College of Engineering, an eminent academician and expert in the field of OBE and curriculum design.
FPGA Prototyping with Verilog Dr. Krishnakumar S and Ms Jilu George of ECE department conducted a workshop on FPGA prototyping with verilog for S3 EIE students. The inaugural session was conducted on 9th September 2025.
Aureatron 2025 IDEA Club (Students Association of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering) conducted, AUREATRON 2025 during 17th September 2025. Events included Treasure Hunt Challenge- to decipher codes, crack riddles, and race against time to uncover the treasure, InnoMark Logo Design Challenge and Tracker Bot: Line Follower Robot to challenge knowledge in sensors, Arduino, and motors to build a robot that follows a path with precision. The event also included several cultural events and performances.

Webinar on “Digital design using Verilog ” On 8th August, 45 of the Electronics & Instrumentation department students participated in PALS prof talks series webinar  on “Digital design using Verilog ” through which they learned the basics of how to design digital circuits using Verilog. (PanIIT Alumni Leadership Series)/PALS is an educational initiative by volunteers from Alumni Fraternity of various IIT’s, for the benefit of engineering students. Through a memorandum of understanding, we FISAT is a stakeholder of PALS initiatives.
Talk on “Research & Innovation for Beginners to Electronics & Instrumentation Students.”  On August 23rd, 2024, Dr. Joe Elembasseril, Senior Research Fellow at RMIT University, Australia, delivered an insightful technical talk on “Research & Innovation for Beginners to Electronics & Instrumentation Students.” The talk aimed to inspire and guide students in pursuing research and innovation within their field.
Industrial Visit to Mukkudom Hydro Electric Power Plant On 5th October, as a part of their industrial visit, Semester three students visited  Mukkudom Hydro Electric Power Plant which provided  valuable hands-on learning experience for the Semester 3 B.Tech Electronics and Instrumentation students. They gained insights into the practical aspects of hydroelectric power generation and the importance of sustainable energy sources. 
Workshop on Enabling IIoT and Digital Twin for Rotating Machinery On 8th October One-Day Workshop on Enabling IIoT and Digital Twin for Rotating Machinery was conducted by Modelicon Infotech, Bangalore. The participants gained a better understanding of these technologies and their potential benefits for industrial processes. The workshop also provided the participants with hands-on experience in building a simple IIoT and Digital Twin system.
Technical talk on “Creating User-Friendly Interfaces with HMI Systems.”  On 4th November 2024 ,The Instrumentation Process Control Systems (IPCS) Kochi Chapter organized a technical talk for final year students. The talk focused on the crucial topic of “Creating User-Friendly Interfaces with HMI Systems.” 
One-day workshop on Design Thinking & Innovation with Arduino” for students of Viswajyothi public school One-day workshop on Design Thinking & Innovation with Arduino” for students of Viswajyothi public school was conducted by IDEA members in collaboration with the Industry Institute Cell on 9th November 2024. The workshop achieved its objectives of introducing students to design thinking, Arduino, and innovative problem-solving.

The speakers engaged in an interactive Q&A session after their talk  with the students, addressing their queries and providing additional clarifications on various aspects of automation.
