Alumni Interaction

Alumni Meet 2023 

The Alumni Association of the Department – Rewind organized analumni meet, Rewind 2K23, on May 1, 2023, at 3:00 PM on the FISAT campus. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 95 alumni from various batches.

The gathering was warmly welcomed by Dr. Deepa Mary Mathews, Head of the Department of Computer Applications. Mr. Bejoy K Jose (Alumnus, 2006 batch, Senior System Analyst, Microsoft, and President of Rewind) addressed the alumni, emphasizing the importance of staying connected and contributing to the department’s growth. Dr. Santhosh Kottam, Senior Faculty Member, extended his felicitations and appreciated the alumni for their continued support.

The event was made more vibrant with stage performances by students of the MCA 2022 batch, adding a festive touch to the occasion. Alumni and their family members also actively participated, showcasing a variety of cultural performances.

The meet served as a platform for alumni to reminisce about their college days, share their professional experiences, and express their willingness to support department activities. The gathering concluded at 6:30 PM, leaving behind fond memories and a strengthened alumni network.

 

 

Alumni Meet 2K19

Rewind 2k19, the Alumni Association of the Department of Computer Applications  conducted an Alumni meet on 27th April 2019 in FISAT campus. Around 50 alumni from various batches participated and rewinded their memories. Mr Santhosh Kottam (head of the department) welcomed the gathering. Mr. Bejoy K Jose (Senior System Analyst, UST London) , president of Rewind presided over the function. Dr C Sheela, (Vice Principal, FISAT) felicitated the gathering. Ms. Deepa Mary Mathews (Rewind & NBA coordinator) has given an awareness about the role of Alumni in NBA accreditation. Stage programmes by the S2 Regular 2018 batch students made the event more colorful. The existing committee of Alumni is extended by including representatives from all the batches. Alumni shared their happiness and offered their support in all the department activities. The meeting concluded by 6: 00 pm

My Stories

The strengthening and maintaining the bond between the students and alumni are always necessary in an educational institution because the students can obtain many insights from the former students. The department is very fortunate to have very vibrant alumni. Rewind the Alumni association of MCA department stays strongly connected through various meets. The department initiated a new session named My Stories aiming to provide a platform for Alumni of the department working all over the globe in reputed MNCs to share their success stories with their junior batches thereby to inspire and guide them to prosper in their career. The session is conducted during the Second Saturday of every month.

The first session of My Stories was handled by our 2013 batch Alumni Mr Basil Abraham. He is currently working as a Product Manager of Jam City Games, Toronto. Basil shared his FISAT experiences and the struggles he faced in his life during the period of study. He motivated the students to come out from the shy shell.

The second session of “My Stories” was on 14th August 2021 at 12pm. The session was handled by Mr Gopu C, alumni of 2011 batch currently working as Assistant Consultant, Digital Farming Initiative, TCS. We were extremely proud and privileged to have our alumni, Gopu, in securing patents across different countries for his creative work and initiatives. The junior batches got highly enlightened by the sharing done by Mr. Gopu. They eagerly asked questions regarding how to face interviews, securing placements, current career opportunities etc.

The third session was organized on the topic “Empowering Placement” by Mr. Sanesh T. George, Associate Consultant, TCS, Kochi on 27th November 2021 at 9.30 am. He explained different ways of self improvement by the student for getting placement. He detailed the interview process he used to conduct and he gave different ways to crack the HR and technical interviews. He also mentioned the high demand of IT professionals in the current scenario and motivated the students to grab this opportunity by putting his/her maximum effort. The session was very encouraging and gave confidence to the students.

Another session of “My Stories” was on 12th March 2022. The session started at 4.00pm. Mr Reji P S, alumni of 2014 batch, currently working as Software Engineer Lead, Capgemini Technology Services India Ltd Bangalore, was the speaker of the session. The junior batches got highly enlightened by the sharing done by Mr. Reji. The session was an overwhelming success and the students eagerly asked questions with regard to how to face the interviews more confidently, securing placements, current career opportunities etc. The session came to an end by 5:00pm.
