ELECTRONICS AND INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEERING

About

Instrumentation is a pioneer field of engineering in the modern era. In this fast growing age of automation and process industries, instrumentation engineer is an inevitable choice of every industry.  So it is very essential and relevant in implementing a department which moulds young talents in the field of instrumentation. With that view we have started the Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering in the year of 2002. The annual intake is 60.

The thrust areas includes

  •  Instrument design and Development
  • Control and Automation
  • Sensor design and development
  • Process Control Instrumentation
  • Virtual Instrumentation
  • Fuzzy logic and neural networks

The department consists of highly qualified and eminent faculty members with immense knowledge and vast experience in teaching and industry. For the last eight years, the department has made several achievements in the field of technical education. It is proud to announce our students had achieved First and Second Ranks in the M G University examinations from 2006 to 2018 as a continuum. A large number of students from our department are placed in the national and multinational companies.

The department has well equipped laboratories such as “Transducers and Measurements Lab”, “Instrumentation Lab”, “Virtual Instrumentation Lab” and fully automated “Process Control Lab” which are essentially necessary for the students to excel in practical fields of instrumentation. It addition we have a dedicated Research Lab and Calibration Lab

An association named IDEA is working under the department of EIE. Various activities such as seminars, quiz competitions, group discussions, technical paper presentations and invited experts` talks are being carried out in this association.
