Dr. Santhosh Kottam is a professor in the Department of Computer Applications, holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, earned in 2022. Additionally, he completed his Master of Computer Applications (MCA) from Madras University and holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics from M G University, Kerala. With over 23 years of teaching experience encompassing both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, Dr. Santhosh has been an integral part of FISAT, serving as Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) in the Department of Computer Applications since May 2008. Notably, he assumed the role of Head of the Department of Computer Applications from 2012 to 2021.
Dr. Santhosh’s academic journey extends beyond FISAT, having previously served as faculty at Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha, and Santhigiri College, Thodupuzha. Since 2009, he has been diligently managing the role of MCA Admission Coordinator at FISAT, efficiently handling all communications and operations related to MCA admissions, including those with LBS, ASC, University, AICTE, and DTE. Moreover, Dr. Santhosh currently serves as the MCA Placement Coordinator, contributing significantly to the enhanced placement records of MCA students since 2012.
Actively engaged in various committees, Dr. Santhosh oversees the Software Cell department at FISAT and has been the Discipline Committee convenor since 2021. His exceptional contributions were acknowledged in 2017 when he was honored with the Best Teacher Award of FISAT. In his extensive teaching career, he has covered a spectrum of subjects, including Programming Languages such as C, C++, Java, and Python, Management Information Systems, System Analysis and Design, Operating Systems, Object-Oriented Modeling and Design, and Data Mining.
Dr. Santhosh’s research interests lie in the areas of Data Mining and Soft Computing techniques, reflected in his numerous publications in international journals and presentations at national and international conferences. He has also played the role of a resource person in various training programs and actively participated in Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), conferences, and workshops.
