Fablab

FABLAB is a technical prototyping platform for innovation and invention which aims at providing stimulus for students and serves as a platform for learning and innovation, and entrepreneurship. It is a small scale workshop offering digital fabrication which empowers the students and other users to create smart devices for themselves which can be tailored to local or personal needs. 

Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT) has started a mini fabrication laboratory – FABLAB with the support of A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University and Kerala start up mission (KSUM) in the college campus. FISAT FABLAB is functioning as an auxiliary body of FISAT Science and Technology Park and Research Centre.

FABLAB consists of state-of-the-art digital fabrication tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC routers, electronics workbench, PCB milling machine, vinyl cutter etc. Additionally, FABLAB create a medium for connecting to a global community of learners, educators, technologists, researchers and innovators – essentially becoming a self-sustaining global knowledge sharing network..
