Industry Institute Interaction Cell (IIIC) – FISAT

The Industry Institute Interaction Cell (IIIC) of Federal Institute of Science and Technology serves as a dynamic platform that bridges the gap between academia and industry. Established with the vision of fostering meaningful collaboration between students, faculty, and industrial partners, IIIC plays a pivotal role in enhancing industry relevance in technical education.

• To provide students with exposure to real-world industrial practices and emerging technologies.
• To promote internships, industrial visits, expert talks, and skill development programs.

Key Activities

 Organizing industrial visits and in-plant training programs to provide real-time exposure to industrial practices.

 Conducting expert lectures, conclaves, workshops, and seminars by industry professionals on emerging technologies and industry trends.

 Facilitating Faculty–Industry Interaction Programmes to enhance professional collaboration and knowledge exchange.

 Signing Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with reputed industries and organizations for strategic academic and technical partnerships.

 Promoting internships, live projects, certification programs, and skill development initiatives to enhance industry readiness and employability.

Through its sustained efforts, IIIC at FISAT ensures that students are industry-ready, technically competent, and professionally confident. By integrating academic knowledge with industrial expertise, the cell contributes significantly to the holistic development of students and the advancement of the institution’s academic excellence, innovation ecosystem, and professional reputation.

The Cell is committed to enhancing industry collaboration, promoting experiential learning, and preparing students to meet the evolving demands of the global workforce. IIIC functions as a strategic interface between students, faculty, and leading industries by facilitating meaningful partnerships, technical interactions, and collaborative initiatives. It plays a pivotal role in strengthening industry readiness among students through structured programs and industry-aligned activities. The Cell facilitates industrial visit and in-plant training, expert talks, conclaves, workshops, seminars, skill development programs, faculty development initiatives to ensure practical exposure alongside academic learning.

An industrial visit was organized to Cochin International Airport (CIAL), Ernakulam, including faculty members and students. The visit aimed to provide practical exposure to large-scale renewable energy systems and sustainable infrastructure

The Road Safety Awareness training workshop featured two insightful talk sessions delivered by eminent speakers: Dr. Rameesha T.V. and Shri Anish Kini, Scientists from KSCSTE-NATPAC. These sessions provided in-depth knowledge on crucial aspects of road safety. 

Faculty members and students of IIIC participated in Udyama 1.0, an Industry–Academia–Government Conclave organized by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Kerala in association with the Directorate of Technical Education, Kerala. As part of the conclave, students showcased their innovative projects at the Project Expo, highlighting their technical creativity and industry-oriented problem-solving skills.

Received the Best Institute Award for the observance of National Road Safety Month 2025, in recognition of the impactful Road Safety Programme and competitions conducted by the Industry Institute Interaction Cell (IIC) in association with the Road Safety Cell. Based on the report submitted, the award was jointly conferred by DTE and NATPAC. In addition, FISAT students achieved state-level accolades in various competitions.

One-day workshop on Smart Energy Technologies: EV, Solar & PLC Automation organized by IIIC Cell & Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering and MTTC International LLC. The session aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industrial practices, thereby enhancing students’ technical competence and readiness for emerging energy sectors. The workshop proved to be highly beneficial, equipping the students with practical insights into modern technologies and motivating them to explore innovative solutions in the field of sustainable energy.
