LIBRARY & INFORMATION CENTER (LIC)

A fully automated modern Library & Information Centre (LIC) is on its way to becoming an outstanding learning resource centre, catering to the students’, faculty’s, and researchers’ ever-increasing and uncompromising information and intellectual needs.

A balanced programme is being followed for the development of the collection of hard copy, audio/video, CD-ROM, and other electronic forms of documents. The LIC houses one of the most comprehensive collections of current engineering and management publications.

The FISAT Library and Information Division provides services to the FISAT Community and Staff from various departments of the college and neighbouring institutions. The College has a central library as well as MBA and MCA reference libraries. The Central Library is housed in a three-story structure with separate reference and stack rooms.

The libraries are completely automated, with over 82,686 volumes of text books and reference books in over 19970 titles. The library subscribes to 185 technical print journals and magazines, and more than 5000 e-journals. There are over 3000 DVDs and CD-ROMs in the digital collection. Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is a component of FISAT INTRANET that allows members to search, reserve, or check the status of any book in the library from anywhere.

For library transactions, smart cards are used. The library houses a reprographic centre. DSpace’s digital library allows library users to access the library’s digital archive. The library also offers a ‘Book Bank Scheme,’ in which members are given one standard book in each subject for the duration of the semester.
