Looking back at the 4 years that I spent in Engineering, there are so many memories that come as my flashback. I had the pleasure of completing my graduation from FISAT under the guidance of highly efficient teachers of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department. It was a wonderful experience at FISAT with an excellent exposure provided across the various platforms. The faculty are very supportive and encourage students to push boundaries to rise above expectations. FISAT targets for an overall development of every student, be it education, cultural awareness or political exposure of business world like industrial exposure. The placement activities are pretty good and come with a training given on how to conduct oneself and face interviews confidently. The ambience of the campus is very positive and the whole experience is excellent and there is always support and motivation from the management to pursue the dreams of every student

I am a 2012 Alumni of FISAT  (B. Tech. EEE). FISAT is one of the best Engineering colleges in Kerala and Electrical department is one of the finest departments. The faculty of my department were very supportive in developing our technical and non technical skills. I am extremely thankful to the Electrical Department and entire faculty team for giving us extra support and assistance in cracking the competitive GATE examination. I got my first job through GATE 2012 and got recruited in Damodar Valley Corporation, the first multipurpose river valley project of India.  Now I am working as Assistant Manager, Electrical at CIAL Infrastructures Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin International Airport. My current portfolio is the execution and maintenance of Renewable Energy (Solar and Hydel) projects for the Airport.

My experience under the excellent tutelage of the staff in FISAT EEE department played a definitive role in my career. Bringing the industry standard to the classroom with Industry connect sessions, helping students undertake academically and socially relevant projects, inculcating critical and logical thinking skills along with regular education are some of the highlights. My work on Regenerative braking functions at Bosch is made possible because of the foundational knowledge laid down at FISAT. With the ongoing push to Electric Mobility, I trust the FISAT EEE Dept to aid and lead innovations in this field and continue to act as a bridge between industry and academia for aspiring engineers.

Senior Software Engineer, General Electric, Bangalore (2009-13 Batch)

One of the greatest opportunities and memorable days of my life were my college days at FISAT, while pursuing my B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Just like any aspiring Engineer, I joined the college with lot of hopes and aspirations, which I could chase and accomplish. The blend of having a strong foundation over the subjects and the freedom to leverage my potential were the most significant takeovers from my college which then lead me to be a Gold Medalist from FISAT. For my higher studies and professional work experience, the four years at FISAT have enabled me to take over challenges and contribute to quality work. The mentorship of the faculties and the support from the non-faculty members makes life easier at FISAT. The high-quality labs bridge the gap between academics and industry experience. Moreover, the lush green campus provides a feeling of being at home with the infrastructure and high end facilities.

Assistant System Engineer, Tata Consultancy Services, Chennai (2015-19 Batch)

It is difficult, to sum up, all the memories and experiences of four years in a few lines. When I joined for B.Tech, I was anxious about my future. But FISAT gave me the confidence and support to grow both personally and professionally. I consider myself very lucky to be a part of the Electrical And Electronics department as well. There is something motivational and special in this environment that made us study and enjoy co-curricular activities. The faculty are very supportive and encourage students to push boundaries to rise above expectations. Different events and sessions arranged by the college have certainly boosted my confidence and management skills to a great extend. Participating in and organizing events and festivals gave me a different enjoyable experience.

Highly secured and advanced labs helped me a lot in improving the practical skills and implementing them in various projects and competitions that I was a part of. I could also make a wide circle of friends that included juniors and seniors as well. FISAT has provided me a wonderful environment and opportunity to learn and grow myself academically as well as to secure a place in the corporate with its best placement services. I will always be thankful to FISAT for making me independent and for giving me great memories of a lifetime.

I consider it my privilege to call myself a Fisatian. The crucial 4 years of my B Tech life was guided by some of the finest faculties that I could wish for, in the department of EEE. At FISAT your learning is never confined to the syllabus, rather, students are presented with a variety of opportunities to explore their inquisitiveness and learn beyond what the books teach you. Students are encouraged to pursue their passion, no matter what discipline it falls under. I got an opportunity to be a part of the Robotics team , as part of the E-yantra project by IIT Bombay. The department encourages the students to take part in such endeavours, especially the ones that bring out the multidisciplinary nature in engineering. FISAT has a commendable FAB-Lab that supports students to establish start ups of their own, and helps in building a strong foundation for such endeavours. The college also has a remarkable placement cell which strives to get their children their dream jobs. Be it individual startups or a career in the industry, the college has top notch facilities and experts who can guide you and help you in laying a strong base for you future.

I can truly say that I would not be where I am today, if it not were for my time at FISAT.

Life is all about Opportunities. You might be the most talented individual but if you don’t get the right opportunities to showcase your talent the career success will be far from reality. I feel we as FISATians and part of EEE are blessed with a lot of options and opportunities. The dedicated faculties and the technology support that we get here are hard to match. There is always something new that the EEE department has to offer, be it initiatives or projects, or learning. I always make sincere efforts to visit my college & faculty whenever I get time because what I am today is because of your hard work and the opportunities that you provided.

Assistant System Engineer, Tata Consultancy Services, Kochi(2016 - 2020 Batch)

It gives me immense pleasure to say that I’m a FISATian. Being a student of engineering is a challenge in itself. It’s difficult to sum up the memories and experiences of four years in few lines. However, for me B.Tech. was all about the cherishable memories of the past and great hope of the future. I strongly believe that there exists moral support along with determination to achieve anything in our life. I am extremely grateful to all the faculty and amigos of  the Department of Electrical and Electronics for being so supportive and bringing out the best in me. An open mind is the ideal one for graduation. Being introduced to new ideas, philosophies and better ways of looking at our life should be the major point rather than just indulging in the high pressure of semester modules. Moreover, in between the naive fresher year and refined final year, life happened.
