APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University Sponsored Three Day FDP on “Hands-on Training on Design of Power Electronic Systems” was inaugurated by Dr. Ashiq Muhammed P E, Project Scientist, Department of Electrical Engineering IISc Bangalore on 30/1/23.Dr. Archana R, Head of the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering delivered  the Welcome address. Inauguration was followed by a session on  “Power semiconductor devices- Interpreting data sheet and introduction to wide band gap devices” by  Dr. Ashiq Muhammed P E .The next  session  was handled by Dr. Nakul Narayanan K , Asst.Professor, Government Engineering College Wayanad on “Introduction to PCB design using KiCAD Software.”On day 2 Dr. Dinesh Gopinath,Professor, GEC, Barton hill  handled hands on session on design of magnetic circuits and gate drivers for power converters.Dr. Pratheesh K J, Assistant Project Manager in Power Electronics group at SFO Technologies, R&D Division (NeST Group Company)delivered the session on “Snubber design, Heat sink selection and loss calculation of converters”.Day 3 sessions were on “Implementation of digital controllers for power converters” by Dr. Harikumar R , Asst. Professor, College of Engineering Trivandrum and “STM 32 programming for power converters” by  Mr.Muhammad Aslam, CEO, Inqbe Innovations Pvt. Ltd.FDP was concluded by valedictory function in which certificates to participants were distributed and they shared their valuable feedback.Dr. Manoj George, Principal ,FISAT, Dr. C . Sheela , Vice Principal ,FISAT,Dr. Mini. P. R, Dean, FISAT,Dr. Archana R, HoD, EEE, Dr. Parvathy R,  Professor, EEE, Ms. Surya Natarajan and Ms. Jyothy G K the coordinators of FDP were present in the function.

ADJUNCT FACULTY LECTURE SERIES

The inaugural session of lecture series on “Electrical Machinery and Power Systems” by Mr. Reji John , Deputy general amanager and Head of Engineering and Production, TELK, Angamaly was conducted on 21st December 2022.The session covered design and manufacturing of power Transfromers with the materials used in manufacturing ,working and different types of transformers.
