The Department of Computer Applications adopts a structured approach to academia–industry interaction and industry-oriented skill development through industry collaborations. These initiatives provide students and faculty with opportunities for practical exposure, skill enhancement, industry interaction, and professional development.

FM Code Solutions – Industry-Powered Mini IT Company at Campus

FM Code Solutions, an industry-supported Mini IT Company established on campus in association with Logix Space Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Kochi, was inaugurated on 14 June 2024. The initiative, based on the company’s Link Ur Codes product, bridges academia and industry by providing students with exposure to emerging technologies, soft skills, and real-world IT practices. Operating as a scaled-down IT company, FM Code Solutions provides students with opportunities to work on live projects and gain practical industry experience throughout their academic journey.

Centre for Future Skills (CFS)

Under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 framework, the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India, entrusted FISAT with establishing Kerala’s first Centre for Future Skills (CFS). Implemented by Ethnotech Academy, the centre offers industry-certified pathways in AI/ML, Cloud & DevOps, IoT, and Web Design, with support from global technology leaders such as AWS, Microsoft, Intel, IBM, and Apple, enhancing students’ industry readiness, practical skills, and employability.

Industry Collaboration and Faculty Development

The Department collaborates with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and UST through Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), industry visits, conferences, and expert talks. These initiatives provide faculty members with exposure to emerging technologies, industry practices, and real-world applications, supporting knowledge exchange and the integration of industry-relevant practices into teaching and academic activities.

Active MoUs and Industry Partnerships

The Department maintains active collaborations with industries and professional organizations to strengthen the connection between academic learning and industry requirements. These partnerships facilitate technical training, workshops, internships, industry visits, expert interactions, placements, faculty development, and research activities, providing students with opportunities for practical exposure and professional skill development.
