  • An investor awareness programme was organised by FISAT Business School in association with Security Exchange Board of India, Bombay Stock Exchange and Central Depositary Services Investor Education and Protection Fund as part of the Global Money Week 2022 – an annual global awareness raising campaign under the aegis of OECD International Network on Financial Education on 24th March 2022.
  • Barclays Life Skills training program (Free Training Program), the Barclays Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative was conducted in association with Global Talent Track Foundation (GTTF) on March 24 – 25, 2022 for the students of first year MBA. The two-day training focused on improving the students’ interview skills, self-awareness, grooming, body language, confidence, stress management, listening skills, problem solving skills etc.
  • The Startup Bootcamp series was conducted by Carve Startup Labs on March 10 – 11, 2022 to foster the students to learn and grow for their future ventures and strengthen the startup ecosystem. Mr. Vishnu Nagaraj, founder and startup evangelist, Carve Startup Labs explained how to work on Ideation Canvas and the creation of Pitch Deck during the two day training program. 
  • Microsoft Certification & Data Visualisation program was conducted for a duration of 48 hours by Mr. Jomon Joseph and team from Strategist for a duration of 5 days from Feb 21-25, 2022. This Program measures competency in the fundamentals of creating and managing worksheets and workbooks, creating cells and ranges, creating tables, applying formulas and functions, and creating charts and objects
  • ‘Talent Scan 2021’, the freshers’ day event for MBA 2021 batch was organised by the Forum of Management Students on December 18, 2021. The event paved the opportunity for the junior batch students to showcase their talents. The programs included music bands, solo songs, and dance performances.
  • Karma 2021, the in-house management and cultural fest of FBS, was conducted on December 18 – 19, 2021. The various management events were ‘The Big Bull’- Finance Game, ‘Mak War-21’- Marketing Game, ‘Alpha Trophy’- Best Manager, and ‘B Quest’- Business Quiz. The cultural events included ‘Metamorphosis’- theme launch and a musical night.
  • Mr. Sujith Bhaskar, GigsBoard India on Dec 11, 2021, addressed the students on ‘Gig economy’. He educated the students on the role of entrepreneurs, investors, NGOs, and policymakers to unlock the potential of the gig economy.
  • Mr. K.R. Mohanachandran, Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer, ESAF Small Finance Bank delivered an expert talk on ‘The Dynamics of Banking’ on November 23, 2021. The program was organised to give insights on the changes in the banking business, create awareness among the students regarding the opportunities available to excel in a banking career, and generate awareness among the students regarding the expectations of the prospective employers of the banking industry.
  • Mr. Naufal Latheef, Director, Hedge School of Applied Economics delivered an informed perspective on ‘Gateway to Financial Freedom’ on November 19, 2021. It fostered the students to grasp an understanding of the financial markets and how it would affect their investment portfolio choices. 
  • The election of office-bearers of FORUM for the academic year 2021-22 was held on November 19, 2021, at 3pm. The positions of the Vice President and Joint secretary were reserved for the Junior batch of MBA students (Semester 1), while the others were to be filled by the senior batch (Semester 3 students).   • Ocean Clean Up drive- November 15, 2021

The Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) teamed up with the NGO Plan@earth and FBS to carry out a ‘Marine Plastic Collection Drive’ on November 15, 2021. The drive was organised at the Munambam Harbour in partnership with the Munambam Fishing Harbour Management Society and the Munambam Fishing Boat Owners and Operators Coordination Committee. The purpose of the program was to kick start a campaign to collect marine plastic and bring it back to the shore and send it off for recycling.

  • The 2021 Batch students of FBS conducted a street play that focused on the dangers of plastic pollution, the problem of unscientific disposal of plastic waste, and the problems that ocean plastic waste poses to the fishing industry.  This program was part of the ‘Swachhta Pakhwada Ocean CleanUp Program’, organised by NETFISH (Network for Fish Quality Management and Sustainable Fishing) and MPEDA.
  • ‘Mpower’, the power communication workshop to unleash the magic within, was conducted by Mr. Krishnakumar, Head coach, Vertical Eye, and Mrs. Mridula Krishnakumar, facilitator, Vertical Eye from November 1 – 5, 2021, & November 15 – 18, 2021 in two batches. The four-day program was jam-packed with numerous team-building activities to enable the students to conquer inhibitions, boost self-belief, understand the magic of teamwork, adjust to changes effortlessly and foster tolerance and ambiguity.
  • Ms. Anjana K R, General Manager- Human Resources, Head Tag, BFSI, Tata Consultancy Services virtually inaugurated the 2021-23 Batch on Oct 18, 2021. She ignited the young business minds on ‘Future-proofing oneself in a Changing world’.  The students were also addressed by Dr. P Anitha, Chairman, FISAT, Dr. Manoj George, Principal FISAT, Dr. C Sheela, Vice Principal, FISAT, Dr. Mini P. R, Dean Academics, FISAT, Dr. A. J. Joshua, Director, FBS, and Mr. N. I. Thomas, PTA Vice President, FISAT.
  • The Forum of Management Students initiated the refurbishing (painting and cleaning) of Rescue Home at Koonammavu in commemoration of Gandhi Jayanthi on October 2, 2021. They also arranged entertainment activities for the differently-abled residents of the institution. The initiative was inaugurated by Shri. Anwar Sadhath, MLA of Aluva constituency.
  • Twenty-five students of MBA 2020 Batch cleaned the Malayattoor Adivaram in commemoration of Gandhi Jayanthi on October 2, 2021’. The ‘No Plastic drive’ cleaning drive was organised BY FMS in association with Plan@earth. The project was inaugurated by Shri Roji M. John, MLA of Angamaly. Six dust bins were placed at various public points as part of the drive.
  • The MBA orientation programme organised by ISTD Kochi Chapter was conducted from Sept 23 – 25, 2021. The students were very fortunate to have interacted with the following experts:

  • Session by Mr. P.T. George, Vice President, V Guard Industries Ltd on ‘Industry expectations from Management students’
  • ‘Insegnante’, the Teachers’ Day Celebrations at FBS was conducted on September 4, 2021. Fun events like guessing the faculty, videos that portray the distinct personality traits/ teaching styles of teachers, and awarding of superhero titles to teachers were some of the events conducted. It also included songs and dance performances by students.
  • A webinar on “Migration and study abroad opportunities for MBA graduates” was conducted on September 1, 2021, by FISAT Business School in association with GEEBEE Education and M&G Immigration and study abroad consultancy. The session was handled by Academic trainees Aleena Shebin Alice T J, Sr. Study manager, and Reneeshia M.S, Sr. Migration manager. She explained the different opportunities for higher studies and the regulations imposed on migration to various countries. 
  • Onam, the annual harvest festival was celebrated at FBS in the online mode on August 19, 2021. Various colourful games were conducted like ‘Talking to Maveli’, guessing the film dialogue and identification of the image displayed.
  • Dr. Unnikartha G, Professor and Placement Officer, FISAT organised a talk on ‘How to land up in your dream job’ on Aug 10, 2021. He encouraged students to engage in LinkedIn, to find strategies that people in their area of interest have pursued to reach the dream job they aspire to be in.
  • As part of the FISAT Digital Discourse Series, the second online International Conference on ‘How Disruptive Chains Can Shape Sustainable Business Models’ was conducted from July 29 – 30, 2021 The conference was inaugurated by Ms. Harini Chari (Leadership brand strategist/ coach & adjunct faculty, Asian Institute of Management, Philippines) and presided by Ms. Anitha P. (Chairman, FISAT). The other key resource persons of the conference were Mr. Jaikanth Sharma (Senior Director, Head of Japan and Korea at TevaApi), Dr. Sadar Abdul Rasheed (Director, Commodity risk control, Savola Group, Saudi Arabia), Dr. Swaminathan Ramakrishnan (Assistant Professor, Amity University, Dubai). 
  • A six day national level workshop on “Investor Awareness Programme on Securities Market” under the aegis of SEBI-IEPF Investor Education Programme (SEBI-IEPF Sponsored) was conducted from July 19 – 24, 2021. The key resource person was Er. Amit Gupta, a SEBI empaneled Securities Markets Trainer. The workshop received registrations of approximately 200 participants across the nation. The workshop dealt in detail on investments in shares, mutual funds, real estate investment trusts, and infrastructure investment trusts.
