The department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at FISAT, through its student association ELECTRA, successfully organised and insightful talk session titled BUILDING INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS WITH IOT AND MACHINE LEARNING on 17th OCTOBER 2025 at 02:00 PM in DB211. The session was led by MR. PANKAJ KUMAR G, presently working as Asst Professor in the department of Computer Science and Engineering. He completed his B. Tech from MG University in 2010, M. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from MG University in 2013 and is currently pursuing PhD from VTU. His research interest pertains to the areas of Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Image Processing etc. Pankaj Kumar has published more than 35 research papers in various international journals and conferences. He has 10 years of teaching experience. He was a resource person to more than 50 Workshops/FDPs. He is a reviewer of some international journals. This event was aimed at guiding students with hands on experience and theoretical knowledge in the emergency fields of Internet of Things and Machine Learning. Drawing from his own journey from student life to the professional world, shared valuable perspectives on bridging the gap between academic learning and industrial requirements by combining hardware interfacing and intelligent data driven solution. He highlighted the growing opportunities in Machine Learning, and provided practical guidance on building technical expertise, enhancing soft skills, and adapting to the dynamic nature of the tech industry. The talk also emphasised the fundamentals of IOT and Machine Learning, and demonstrated how these technologies can be integrated to build smart systems. The event was well received, leaving students inspired and better equipped to plan their career paths. ELECTRA’s initiative once again proved instrumental in connecting students with industry professionals and fostering a culture of career readiness within the department. Notably, faculty members Ms. Parvathy R and Ms. Veena Wilson were present for the event, offering their support and encouragement. The session started with welcome address by Ms Nandhana.
